Recess Fun!

What 2nd grader doesn't love recess?  We're lucky to have fun a wonderful playground.

First Week of School

We had a great first week!  We got to know one other by playing 'Whip Around' (ask your child), we began Journey's (reading program)-we read Henry and Mudge and learned what sequence means, reviewed counting coins, telling time, making ten, practiced math facts on tablets, wrote about our weekend (we'll do this every Monday),we drew a picture of our favorite place then wrote about it, took our first Journey's weekly comprehension test and created a 'My First Week of Second Grade' book.  

1st Day of School

We had such a great 1st day!   I'm so excited to get to know each student & watch them grow this school year.

I'm so excited for the 2013-2014 school year!  It's going to be a great year of fun-filled, relevant learning.  The intention of this blog is to share what we are learning through descriptions, pictures, student work and more.  You will also find information on homework assignments, vocabulary, spelling, and weekly objectives.
